This is a drama taking place in Shilla about a twin girl, Deokman(boy name to hide her real identity), who was given away to a palace maid,So Hwa, to run away somewhere safe because of a prophecy. The prophecy said that if twins were born, the sons that were born would be all killed and one of the twins would also have to be killed. As she grows up, Deokman loses her mom,So Hwa, in the middle of desert from a quick sand. She then travels to the palace not knowing her whole life that she was a princess and had a twin sister,Princess Chun Myung. Deokman meets Yushin, a training Hwarang Warrior still at a young age, and becomes a Hwarang Warrior. She starts to live in the palace and meets her twin sister (both do not know yet). As she later grows older, Deokman then finds out the truth including her twin sister (twin knew before Deokman did). Princess Chun Myung makes a meeting for Deokman and her real mother, Lady Ma Ya, to meet each other. As days go by, Princess Chun Myung tries to help Deokman escape through the palace with Yushin and leave Shilla forever. Escaping from danger, Deokman and Yushin meet Bidam who doesn't know about anything. Bidam tries to help them escape with a boat but a tragidy happens. Princess Chun Myung is struck by a poisen arrow. She dies and Deokman decides to stay behind and wants to become the ruler of Shilla and make it a stable kingdom. Deokman has help from friends and followers who make her known as Shilla's princess first. Mi Shil is one of the characters in this story that plays as the enemy of Deokman. She is the high priest but wants to become the emperor of Shilla too. Who will win this fight to become Shilla's new ruler?
